Wayneshout’s mission is to create a place where Fort Wayne’s arts, culture, and small business communities can come together, under one banner, through the power of podcasting. This is a place of mutual awareness and promotion – a voice for Fort Wayne. Our journey is just beginning. We want to start with something cool, and take it somewhere amazing. Wayneshout founder, John Dawkins, was a factory machinist until 2014, when he decided to go back to school for a degree in Music Technology from the University of Saint Francis. John’s first podcast series was created for the Saint Francis record label, Marble Lounge Records, where he served as the label’s first ever VP of Marketing.
Graduating at the top of his class with two student audio awards, John is now a producer for NPR’s regionally syndicated cultural music program, Folktales with Julia Meek, and produces and creates multiple podcasts here on Wayneshout.com. John hosts Oh Shoot, REBOOT! with his wife, Andi Dawkins, and the upcoming Wayneshout: The Podcast.
As early as high school, Ben Clemmer has been working in communication and audio production, including competing with and coaching competitive speech teams. Ben holds a degree in Music Technology from the University of Saint Francis, with a minor in communication, and earned a USF award for Audio for Visual Media. He is a presenter and producer at Fort Wayne’s NPR affiliate, WBOI, and his work on WBOI Presents has earned a Cardinal Community Service Award from the Indiana Broadcasters Association.
Ben has lent his voice and talents to projects in the U.S. and internationally, and joins Wayneshout’s vision of turning Fort Wayne into a hub for community awareness and audio storytelling. Ben hosts Storytelling Breakdown with his friend and cohort, Caleb Meyer.
John and Ben met in the Music Technology program at Saint Francis, and work together at Fort Wayne’s WBOI.
